José Ayerve is a musician, producer, and sound engineer who has been performing and recording since the early 90's. While his collaborative efforts with the groups Spouse, Pernice Brothers, and Winterpills are firmly entrenched in the modern 'indie' rock movement, his solo endeavors are inspired nods to the likes of Spain's rugged songstress, Chavela Vargas, and England's politically astute, Billy Bragg. Ayerve is a native of Colombia who grew up in New England and splits his time between music and language translation. His songs can be heard on college radio stations throughout the country as well as in various television programs and independent films. His forthcoming release, "The Nuclear Waste Management Club" is expected sometime this spring/summer on Pigeon Records. The Nuclear Waste Management Club features: Anne & Peyton Pinkerton, JJ O'Connell, Mark Schwaber, Scott Hall, and Ken Maiuri, with guest appearances by Doug Cowan and Zeke Fiddler. |
